Finalist for Designerati ‘Kitchen of the Year’ 2023

Breaking news! Simon Thomas Pirie has made the shortlist for in Designerati ‘Kitchen of the Year’ (Over £40k) again. We last won a prestigious ‘Big d’ for our ‘Bliss’ kitchen on the North Norfolk coast in 2018.

The award ceremony was held in the Wembley Stadium Geoff Hurst Suite on November 22nd. Unfortunately we didn’t quite walk away with the honour this year which although wase disappointing has made us even more determined to win again in future. We can console ourselves knowing it was won by a very strong project we always suspected was going to be a strong contender by Shape London.

Our stunning penthouse kitchen, designed in collaboration with WN Interiors sits on top of the Bristol & West buildings in central Bournemouth with stunning views over the sea and town. Elements of the design reflect the modernist heritage of the building, while combining the very best in contemporary materials, craftsmanship and fittings, with a striking island taking centre stage in the open plan living space.

We love that the Bristol and West Penthouse Kitchen is full of light, airy natural tones and materials when compared to the dark timbers and metals of the more industrial feel of Bliss. There is a real ying yang / black white thing going on between these kitchens and the 5 years that separates them.

It was exciting to make finalist list and a lovely event with some of the great and good from the kitchen and bathroom industry present to chat to. Here’s to next year and some of the amazing projects we have underway hopefully making it on to the shortlist in 2024!
